Hilde Lisaerde
Contemporary art
Hilde Lisaerde, born in 1956 in Sint-Niklaas, studied from 1970 to 1980 at the academy of Sint-Niklaas and the department of visual arts of Sint-Lucas in Ghent, where she studied under Dan Van Severen. In her professional career she was active as a stylist and teacher of visual arts and decor in Maldegem, Sint-Niklaas and Brussels. Since 1975 she has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Belgium, the Netherlands and France. This year she presents her recent work in oil paint, acrylic and mixed media. Her art evokes a sense of alienation that is expressed spatially, with a confrontation between a loud presence and a silent absence.
