Jewelery art
EbbenGouD is the studio gallery of jewellery designer Patsy Van Damme. Patsy brings the craft in its purest form, passionately forged in jewellery art, a timeless collection and custom-made jewellery. Her work typifies the power of simplicity. For Patsy, jewellery design is an art form that perfectly combines a sense of aesthetics, form, function and construction. Her work is on the one hand architectural, on the other experimental, in which the boundaries of the precious metal gold are explored. In her gallery, Patsy also shows jewellery art by Jacqueline Ryan, a London jewellery artist, living and working in Todi, Italy. Jacqueline's work is inspired by nature and its micro-details, growth patterns in plants and other organisms, decay, movement, composition and structure. Her compositions in gold and enamel often consist of movable elements. The interaction of the wearer with the work brings the piece to life. Jacqueline Ryan's work is in international private and public collections. During the nocturne of G.AN.DA 2024 on November 29, EbbenGouD introduces jewelry artist Rike Bartels, who lives and works in Munich, Germany. After graduating from high school in 1989, Rike went to Barcelona for a one-year study at the Escola Massana. A year later, she went to the goldsmith school in Pforzheim and then to the Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences for Design. In 1993, she studied industrial design there and moved to Manfred Bischoff (1947-2015) in Tuscany that same year. She lived and worked with him for over ten years in San Casciano dei Bagni. There she was surrounded by the important things in her life: art, Etruscans, cats, dogs and the vast landscape, which often returns in her work. During this period, gold became the most important material for Rike Bartels and determined her works. Today she lives and works in Munich again with her husband and dog.
